The Witchwood has a totally different but very intense beauty in winter.
You have to look more closely to find bugs in winter, but they're still there! Areas of the snow were live with minuscule jumping creatures called springtails:
And I think this is the winter shelter of some kind of insect:
And then there are winter buds to identify. This is something I know is possible but haven't learned yet.
